Nerd vs Geek

Hi!
So, I don't know if you know this, but a lot of people seem to misunderstand the right meaning of these two amazing words: GEEK and NERD.
As I'm someone who has good grades, who likes to read and has a "stalker memory", people just assume that I am a nerd. I wouldn't blame them, for God's sake, I even were glasses and  braces! So, of course people think I'm a nerd.
But I'm about to prove you're wrong!!!
Fist, I thought nerd people were those weird guys who seem to know all about computers and hacker stuff, but I actually went looking for the meaning of "nerd" and what I found was pretty interesting!... Seems like everyone's a nerd!!!
Did you know that?! Did you?!
How?, you ask,I'm not a nerd!
Well, guess what! You're wrong!!
We are all a big comunity of nerds!!!
You must be thinking I'm kidding, but according to the AED dictionary (iPhone app), nerd means "an intelligent but single-minded expert in a particular technical field or profession." See? So if you're really good at sports, you're also a nerd! Join the community, people!
With that, I prefer the term geek. It is much nicer and much cooler than nerd!
Do you consider yourself as a nerd or a geek?

Well, that will be all for today!
Have a lovely weekend!
Bye

Trylle Trilogy, by Amanda Hocking

Hello!
This is Alex and I know we haven't posted anything lately but we've been sooo busy!! With school and exams and endless homework, we had no time to blog.
But tonight I decided it was time to write a review on the Trylle Trilogy, by Amanda Hocking. Lizzy hasn't read the second nor the third book from this series so it will be just me!

So, when I finished Switched ( we've wrote a review on this one, you can click right here ) I was very excited to get my hands on Torn, the second book of the trilogy, so I got to literally every bookstore and none of them had it!!! They all had Switched and Ascend but I freakishly wanted Torn!!! It was like all the bookstores wanted to punish me for something I had no idea what!
So I convinced myself it was over and that I would have to wait for the book to come to the stores again and I began reading Uglies by Scott Westerfel. I wasn't enjoying it very much, I just don't know why and then I decided to drop it because.... I GOT TORN!!!
( If you haven't read Torn, now I'm going to start  spoiling :) Bye )
I flew through the book, getting more frustrated as the book went forth. By the end of the book, I was pissed at Wendy, I was pissed at Finn, I was pissed at everyone! Wendy just did things I could never imagine her doing like being engaged to Tove and date both Finn and Loki. I mean, she didn't even love Tove! Why did she agree to marry him? To save the people and the country she didn't even wanted? It just doesn't make sense to me. And that whole Finn and Loki thing was just too forced. Wendy wasn't like that, at all! And so, by the end of the book, I was pissed at Amanda Hocking!
But still, I wanted to know if she ended up with Finn. Because THAT was the point of the books to me! It wasn't even about the world because I never found it very appealing but I freaking loved Finn! And so, I bought Ascend.
I think I could go all night talking about the frustration it was. Wendy was completely changed! She looked like a completely different character! I mean, I get that characters need to grow as the books go on but they can't grow that much! She was completely changed and it really pissed me off!! And then Finn gets all jealousy and "you can't be with him, Wendy. He is bad for you and blah, blah, blah..." Just tell her what you feel for God's sake! It is so annoying!! And then Loki turns out to be a sweetheart who really loves Wendy but I just don't like him! Wendy's supposed to be with Finn, not Loki! If you write two books where the main character is in love with a guy, just don't make her love someone else in the freakin' last book!! Two books of Finn and in the end she stays with Loki?! I mean, c'mon! That is not cool!
Anyway, I got really heartbroken when Elora died but I think I wouldn't have changed it. I think she was just one of those characters that are meant to die, like Prim in The Hunger Games. On the other hand, I thought the chancellor's death was completely forced. He was a disgusting person and everyone wanted him dead, so he died! It was so forced! The way he died, being the only one who died in that day... It just wasn't ok. Maybe it would've been better if someone inside Forening had murdered him, I don't know, something like that.
I got very happy about Matt and Willa getting together. I found all the Matt/Willa moments just so funny! But the Riannon and Rhys thing... I think there should've been more of that. We never actually got to meet Riannon and she was one of the characters I was interested in meeting. But Amanda let me down again...
Finally, I got to the last scene where Wendy kills her father. That scene, Oh God!, it was so hilarious!! The way she nose bled when she tried to kill him was VERY embarrassing! It was just so ridiculous! God! And then, she kills him with the only ability she hadn't trained: the creepy brain ache! W...W....What?! And then, OH NO!, Loki's dying! Let's call Sara! They call Sara and she says she's not strong enough to safe him and she asks for Wendy's help. Wait, what? Does that mean Wendy can now heal?... No! It means she can give energy to the dying person! And the dying person survives!! Yeey, Loki's alive!....
I think the only scene I really enjoyed was the one where Tove looses his mind and beats her. That was soo good! I really felt bad for Tove, totally not for Wendy, and I think it was good for us to see the side effect the powers had.
Anyway, I got really pissed at Amanda Hocking for making me read those three books just to find out Finn stays with another girl.
Thankfully, she decided to tell exactly how everything ended so now I'm not curious at all about any loose ends, because there are none! It all ended in a happily ever after ending which was kind of cool. Wendy married Loki and got pregnant ( again, too forced ), Finn got together with Mia ( who we don't even get to know better. Another "Riannon" ), Matt stayed at Forening with Willa and Meggie went to Forening. So Wendy gathered everyone she cared about in the same place and all of them were happy! Pretty good, hum? Still, I prefer The Hunger Games type of ending.
Anyway, that was it. Tell me your thoughts on the book and what would you like us to write about?
Thanks :)
Bye
