Into the Wild

Hi,everyone!
This is Alex, Lizzy is on vacations so she can't write. But I am here and I am bored to death, so I decided to make a film review. I know it's our first film review but I've called Lizzy and she doesn't mind.
So, the film that I want to talk about is based on a book (by Jon Krakauer)and it is also a true story, wich means it really happen. It is called Into the Wild and it was directed by Sean Penn. As some of you may know, Sean Penn is a great actor and an amazing director, according to my father. I've seen I am Sam, starring him, Dakota Fanning and Michele Pfeiffer, and it was absolutly amazing. There is no other word to describe it. And when I knew he was directing it, I thought " Well, maybe this film isn't that bad". And I was right!
The film tells the story of a young man called Chris who decides to leave his life behind and begin a new one, away from his family and all the things he knew so well, away from society. So, when he graduates from college, he runs away leaving Christopher McCandless forever. Is goal is to get to Alasca and live there isolated from the world.
He decides to drop his car at a desert near a road and change his name to Alexander Supertramp - wich, I think, is an awesome name. And so, he begins his journey, counting only with his skills and the bag he brought. During those two years that took him to get to Alasca, he meets a lot of great people, who help him getting ready for Alasca.
I know it may not seem great, and that was what I first thought, but when I saw the film... I don't know, I just fell in love with it...
This particular film made me think about hundreds of things. Chris was angry with the society, he tought it was way too materialistic, way too full of lies and he wanted to get away from all of that so he chose to live isolated. There's this one scene where he spends the night in a place were are a lot of storms. When he wakes up after a storm, his car is all damaged so he drops it. And then, he takes out his money, throughs it to the ground and burns it. He burns the money!!! And he was happy with it!! He was so happy!!! And that was when I decided he was nuts!
Althought it had seem like a pretty stupid thing to do, that particular scene messed up with my head and I think it is one o my favorite scenes it the entire film.
Anyway, this is just a really good film that makes you think and rethink about your life and how you see the world. It literally will change your way of seeing things. And if you cry in films then, get ready because you're going to cry A LOT!!!
I hope you'll see and enjoy it and let us now what you thought about by leaving a comment down below.

Bye :D

Alex (& Lizzy :D)
